Parippu Curry
Our thick parippu curry is a side dish with rice, pappadam and ghee.
Ingredients
- 1cup parippu (lentils)
Masala mix
- ½ coconut grated
- ½ tsp jeera(cumin seed)
- 2-3 green chillies
- 4-5 pods of garlic
- Seasoning
- ¼ tsp mustard seed (kaduku)
- 3-4 shallots (chuvanna ulli)
- 2 dried red chillies
- 1 stalk of curry leaves
- Salt as required
- 3-4 cups of water
Preparation
Cook the parippu and mash it.
Grind the masala mix items to a paste.
Add the masala paste, salt to taste and 1-2 cups of water to the mashed
parippu. Mix well and let the parippu
masala mix to boil; then set it aside.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed (can use ghee also) wait to
crackle. Then add shallot, curry leaves
and dried red chillies. Fry till shallot
turns golden brown; season the parippu masala mix. Delicious parippu curry is ready to serve. Go To KERALA FEAST
