Homemade Dishes - Puliserry

Puliserry



A thick gravy side dish made of curd, coconut, green chillies, garlic, shallot and spices, good for stomach.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups curd

Masala mix
  • ½ cup grated coconut
  • 2 green chillies
  • 2 pods garlic
  • 2 stalks curry leaves

Seasonings
  • ½ tsp mustard seed
  • 1 shallot (chuvanna ulli)
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • 1 ½ tsp cumin seed powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp fenugreek (uluva)
  • Salt as required
  • ½ cup water

Preparation

Make a paste of the masala mix items in a blender.  To the curd add the masala paste, salt to taste and water, set it on flame for boiling.  When the mix starts boiling; turn off the flame.

In a pan heat oil/ghee, add mustard seed and wait to crackle.  Add rest of the seasonings and temper.   Add the tempered seasoning to the masala curd mix; tasty pulissery is ready to serve.  Go To KERALA FEAST
